Question:

What subs would be best for my 2000watt mono amp? and should i run it at 1ohm or 2 ohm?

i have a hifonics brutus bxi 2006 class d mono amp-rms @ 4 ohms=1 x 650 watts- rms at 2 ohm=1 x 1300 watts- rms@1ohm=2000watts what subwoofer would handle this amp to its capacity iv went threw many subs with this amp. so i was looking at hifonics subs cause i figured they could handle the power there were two that caught my eye: the olm 1612 specs are '12-lnch DVC Subwoofer

'1-0hm, or 4-0hm Operation

'76mm Dual 2-0hm + 2-0hm Voice-Coil

'sensitivity:87db

'peak-3200watts

'Rms-1600watts

the other sub was the goliath Hifonics XX-1612

  4. you get the most bang for your buck @1ohm. Id recommend looking into the Alpine TypeX 12'' 4ohm dvc version.  2 of them should match up perfectly with that amp.
