  1. beans and nuts.

  2. Vegetables of course.. dark greens, the red beets, and the orange ones like carrots!  Vegetables have more protein than any meat!   Meat protein is recycled thru an animal.  It is dead protein.. not good for the system!

  3. Textured Vegetable Protein or TVP

You can add it to eggs (if you are not vegan)

You can just add water and spices and make up a pattie

You can loads of recipes online

Morning Star Farms has meatless bacon, sausage, grillers, chik nuggets, meatless meat crumbles, corn dogs, hot dogs etc. Every single bit of Morning Star Farms is delicious.

Eating out: Burger King Veggie burger is good for vegetarian but a no no for vegans. Subway veggie is a great option. Hard Rock, TGI Fridays and Ruby tuesdays have veggie burgers

Trail Mix granola bars are delicious for breakfast and have lots of protein.

  4. The World Health Organization recommends adults get 25-35 grams of protein a day.  It is VERY easy to get enough protein without meat or dairy.  2 slices of whole wheat bread can have over 7 grams of protein, depending on the brand of bread.

Do not stress about protein - you will be fine.  Every plant material contains protein - that is where animals like monkeys, giraffes, cows etc get theirs.

There are "fake" substitute meat soy products out there.  Be careful about eating too many of them, they are not only full of fat, but full of isolated soy protein, which is NOT good for you.  Just stick with fruits, veggies and grains and you'll be fine and feel great!

Good luck and congrats on taking this step to improving your health and the health of the animals.  :o)

  5. Tofu has a bad rep... but, when it is prepared right it tastes just like meat!  It can be substituted for meat in virtually any recipe.  There are also lots of fake meats made from soy that have protein in them.  Such as: burgers, ground meat, hot dogs, chicken patties and nuggets, sausage, etc.

Beans are also another GREAT source of protein, I use them in everything.

peta.org has lots of wonderful recipes

allrecipes.com is another great source- the best part about them is that you can adjust the serving size if you are like me and just cooking for one.

Good luck!  Going veg is one of the best things you can do for your health and our enviroment!

  6. tofu or depending on what kind of vegetarian, like if u would still eat fish, sushi or salmon

    u could eat soy beans

    cheese

    ummmmm, peanut butter

    protien bars

protein shakes (they r gross) but if u go to a jamba juice of a really good and healthy place tht has a wide variety of beverages, they have lots of nuitrients and ingredients tht have protein in them, there really great when not store bought like out of the box

                                              ~~ Hope this helps*

  7. A lot of things really:

    Peanut Butter

    Cheese

Switching to Soy Milk. I would recommend the brand So Nice.

    Beans

Tofu. There are plenty of ways to prepare this, and I'm sure you could find away to suit your taste. A friend of mine puts it into a frying pan with an inch of water to cook it and adds vegetable bouillon. Then as the water evaporates add vegetables and stir fry it. It makes a great filler for wraps!

Protein Shakes. Though its hard you can find some that actually taste good! Or get the ones that you mix into your other drinks. The texture might change but the taste hopefully wont.

Veggie Burgers. They taste great and are very filling! I would recommend Money's Veggie Burgers. They are made of rice, beans, and cheese. It sounds weird but they are very delicious!

There are also plenty of fake meats that have a good amount of protein in them.

I hope that helped! And for more just google and you'll find some more.

  8. if you dont mind the last or horrible texture you can drink nasty protein shakes, but if you like tofu it is a great substitutions and you can do lots of things with it

  9. Any kinds of beans are FULL of protien, same with any kindave nuts, peanut butter is also a really good high protien food. yet high cal and fat too.

Then of course theres tofu, or TVP (textured vegetable protien) which is a vegetarian ground beef subsititute, im not 100% sure whats all used in it, but its good.

Rice is also got a pretty decent amount of protien.

but im going to say beans, and nuts are where you could pick up the majority of your non meaty protiens.

  10. Tempeh, seitan (wheat gluten), tofu, TVP (Textured vegetable protein), lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, spirulina, buckwheat, amaranth, broccoli, mushrooms, potatoes, beans, rice & beans, apples, banana, oranges,  watermelon, seeds (hemp, flax, pumpkin, sesame, sunflower), peanut butter, soy milk, some premade meals (such as Amy's, etc) & meat substitutes (such as Boca, Gardenburger, Tofurkey, Lightlife, Morningstar, Yves, etc) or the main sources of veg protein.

Yes if you eat, you most certainly wold be getting enough protein.

  11. this answer comes to you straight from my culinary arts textbook.

"incomplete proteins, such as vegetables, grains, legumes, and nuts, do not contain all of the essential amino acids. however, each of these food groups contains some of the amino acids that, when combined with othe incomplete proteins, can become complete proteins. when following a vegetarian diet, the following combinations offer a sample of non-meat based complete proteins:

    lentils and rice

    pasta and beans

    tortillas and beans

    tofu and rice

    hummus and pita"

hope that helps! eat some bean burritos!!

  12. beans and rice is a complete protein

    Spirulina  http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe...

    nuts

    nut butters

  13. beans, peanuts, peanut butter, nutella (its a delicious hazel nut cholaty spread), fish (if your not a vegan) and tofu, of course.
