What subway(s) would i take to get to coney island from grand central?

The only trains that run @ Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue are the F D Q N. You'd have to switch/transfer at some point. Try this. Take the 6 to bway lafayette and take the F to coney island. Or whatever stop u wanna get off at.

My friend, from Grand Central, take the the downtown (southbound) #4 or  5 subway line (Green Line) to 14th Street-Union Square.

At 14th Street-Union Square, transfer upstairs to the "N" or "Q" line (Yellow Line). Take either downtown (southbound) train to Coney Island.

Just came back from NYC.  There is a trip planner on the New York City.  Try www. mta.info transit site that will give you about three options. Also we got a bus map and subway map at the subway  that really helped us find our way around
