Pioneer, Fosgates, someone needs to really learn about audio.

There are many out there that are accurate, elemental Designs, CDT Audio, Memphis MOJO, RE Audio, just look into what kind of subs you want.

The repsonse is not only based on the sub but the type/size of enclosure you use.

Look for subs with a sensitivity of 92dB or higher and that are CEA-2031 compliant.

One of the best sub-woofers manufactured for clarity and transient response has always been JL Audio.  I listen to all gentries of music from Jazz, world, classical, hip hop, and country.  I have owned Pioneer, MTX (thunder 5000), Sony Explode (unhappy), Autotek, and Infinity. Before I invested more in buying JL Audio W3v3's and I have been very impressed with them, All the above manufactures make good products but they just do not have that true ability to reproduce everything I have played through them, out of the above named the only one that came close was the MTX thunder 5000 but they lasted less than a year before going bad (just a bad personal experience).

Lets put it this way. If you see the sub you like in bestbuy circuit city an especially walmart its probably not good unless its a high value then you can save money getting it off the internet

MTX, JL, Infinity, Pioneer, Rockford Fosgate, and RE. thats all i can think of right now
