On the first day, just take plenty of binders, paper, pens and pencils. Usually they'll tell you what you need and when you need it by. Expect to go shopping the night of the first day of school or the next night. You can't get in trouble for not having anything the first day if they didn't tell you they needed it. 4 geometry i needed like a compass, protractor, & a scientific calculator. plus the basic stuff like paper & binder & colored pencils.

Like the above answerer, in general on the first day of school I just take a stack of paper, folder, and pens and pencils.  The teacher will tell you what you will need in specific like possibly a binder for just that class, notebooks, and other stuff.  In general, for Geometry, you will need a compass, protractor, scientific calculator, for Spanish, you will need a spanish-english dictionary, and for art, probably colored pencils, and a sketch pad.  and always have a lot of paper, pencils, and pens.
