My first day of Grade 9 is coming up on September 2nd, and I don't know what to bring at all. They haven't sent out lists (which is what I'm used to), so I don't know whether I should just buy the basics or everything. Help?

  1. Usually in high school the teachers tell you what you need for each class once school started.

    For us it was:

    Calculator

    Notebooks -Spiral and Composition

    Book Covers

    #2 Pencils

    Pens-Blue/Black

    Loose Leaf

    3 ringed Binders-2 or 3 of them

    Folders

    Dividers

    Erasers

Those are the essentials. You're probably not going to be expected to have everything the first couple days. They give you a list and 2/3 days to get everything.

  2. Just bring a spiral notebook, a folder, pen/pencil, and some notebook paper. Or you can just get a 3-ring binder and put the paper in there so you won't have a lot of stuff to carry. The teachers individually have their own supply list.

  3. dont worry.

just bring a notebook and a pencil, they will give you all the supply list on the first day of schoool.

  4. All you really need is a good attitude, a smile, a pencil/pen, folder, paper, a calculator (if your math class makes you do a pretest), and money or sack lunch.  You also need your schedule.  Your teachers will tell you what you need for their classes. They do not send lists in high school.

  5. Most high schools don't send school supply lists. But, by now you probably know which notebooks you're most comfortable using (spiral, composition, loose-leaf, etc) so bring a few of those. Staples and other supply stores usually sell a package of like 10 notebooks for real cheap, btw. Also bring a calculator (though don't buy an expensive one because some maths require you to use a specific type and some teachers don't let you use calculators at all). Bring pens, pencils, paper, folders, assignment pad, calendar (try to get a small one you can take to school everyday-it helps to keep track of when things are due), graph paper (you might not end up even needing it)

You might want to wait until the weekend after the first week to do the real intense shopping b/c then you'll know which teachers want you to get which supplies

  6. notebooks, pens, pencils, loose leaf notebook paper, highlighters... anything extra... they will tell you then. good luck!
