What supplies should i get before adopting my chinchilla?

im adopting a chinchilla from the shelter and would like to know wat supplies i should buy before bringing him him.

Chin dust

Cage

Water bottle

Food bowl

Quality chin food

Bedding (No pine or cedar!)

Those are the absolute basic requirements.

Do some research to find good/bad food lists for chinchillas, and even search Yahoo Groups to find one that discusses Chinchillas and their care. Other chinchilla owners are some of the best to learn from, including quality vets in your area.

-A large and spacious cage.

-A wheel that has a solid running surface, no bars.

-Water bottle.

-Food dish that they can not tip over or eat.

-Pellet food that does not contain any treats, I recommend Mazuri.

-Timothy hay.

-Dust house or pan.

-Chinchilla dust.

-Treats such as small pieces of apple or carrot, rose hips, and raisins, though raisins should only be given in the most restricted quantities.

-Litter, such as Care Fresh or Yesterday's News.

-A hiding box or two.

Other things you may want to consider are a traveling crate if your friend ever needs to go to the vet, ledges and things to jump on, such as Sleep-N-Ledges and Leap-N-Ledges, a hay rack, and an exercise ball.

And congratulations for deciding to save a chinchilla, most people will just run out and buy one from a pet store.

Chinilla sand from the pet shop!

The little buggers love to play in it

PLenty of food and a few treats for bonding ^^

and a general spacious living area where is i not too loud

its pretty obvious what to get

but i get my chiniilllas the sand from the pet store

and they run and everything in it

food and water is obvious and bedding is just like hammster beddings
