What surprised you the most about Toronto

Usually when you go to a new city you have preconceived notions. For me I wasn't prepared for all the trees and valleys. I had ideas of concrete everywhere.

The clothing.  Everyone wears dark colors.  

Geography.  Compared to where I'm from it's bloody flat.  Without hills and such as landmarks, I get lost in the region surounding Toronto.

English is becoming a secondary language.

I used to travel all over southern Ontario as a kid visiting family in the 60's and 70's.  Had little reason to go for 20 years, now my wife id from there and we go frequently.  The place has really changed!

Absolutely nothing. Toronto is an extremely boring city.
