  1. The overall system of classification of living organisms used today by many biologists is the five-kingdom system, with the six-kingdom system used widely as well.  Check out the brief summary of the five-kingdom system at the following site.  It is a brief introduction at a very basic level.

  2. The classification is called taxonomy. It is based off the six kingdoms: protista, eubacteria, archaeabacteria, animalia, plantae and fungi.

    but also in lower levels from most inclusive to least inclusive being kingdoms, phylum, class, order, family, genus and specie

    we class them based on organisms biological names and similarities.
