  1. The Metric system and the English system are the two measurement systems found in the world. The various temperature systems you may find are degrees Fahrenheit, degrees Celsius, degrees Fahrenheit, degrees Kelvin, and degrees Rankine.

To convert degrees Fahrenheit into degrees Celsius, you need to subtract 32 and then multiply by five-ninths.

    For example:

    (212°F - 32) x (5 / 9) = 100°C

  2. There are a few methods.  The one used in all modern science is called SI - it's basically the metric system, but amongst other things they use Kelvin instead of Celsius for temperature.  The only other widely used system is the U.S. Customary/U.K. Imperial system, which none of the smart countries use any more :p.

As to how to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius; first subtract 32 (as water freezes at 32 in F but 0 in C) and then multiply by 5/9
