  1. at work i have 4 trays. An in tray, Out Tray, Filing Tray and Pending tray for stuff I'm waiting for other people to get back to me on before it gets dealt with.

if i see it begin to pile up i go through each item and put a sticky on it with instructions on what i need to do.

like you i have to work really hard at being organised because its not something that comes naturally and i hate seeing people with clear desks because i will never achieve that

at home i try to keep as clutter free as possible - which is ok if you don't have kids but... i do regular guts. i have a capsule wardrobe - if i haven't worn it for six months it goes. i have to apply that to most things because i tend to hoard stuff. so unless its really personal - letters and stuff.. it goes.

as much as i hate it i end up doing all the housework on the saturday. Mr Adele still nags me - but i don't see him lifting a finger. but the only way i can get through it is if i listen to my ipod really really loud

if lists aren't working for you then they never will. so just tackle one room at a time - that way you'll see you have achieved something

if you have a diary - use that so you can prioritise your day

  2. accept that it might be part of your personality?
