  1. Depends a lot on the carpet and what material it's made of and the size of the stain.  Turpentine is what is usually used to remove paint, after use always rise area with water to remove the smell.

  2. Errrrmmmmmmmmmmmmm..................a blowtorch?

  3. Paint is usually water soluble but first, get up as much as you can. It may be a lost cause with that much paint but soap and water once you have as much of the paint up as possible is your best bet. A broom and dust pan, sweeping as much as you can into the dust pan and getting it out of there is best to start. Then use clean sponges to soak up as much as possible, wash them out good, squeeze them out and keep soaking up as much as possible. that's a lot of paint so you may need to replace the part of the rug where the half gallon landed but you may be able to spot clean other places.

  4. find an empty jar - mix a 50/50 solution of white spirit and washing up liquid  - put the lid on and shake 'til the combine and dab the stain with it

  5. never heard of eating it before lol i'm a painter and decor, i've been asked this a million times! forget all different types of detergents and all that gumf.... if it is water based paint, use water... hot or cold what ever you prefer with a wee bit of washing up liquid and a bit of elbow grease, simple as that. if it is oil based then use turps or white spirit with a scouring pad and some more of that elbow grease!!!! if it is a large amount and is white, then i'm positive by a 1000 per cent it will stain

  6. Get a new carpet

  7. white spirit.

  8. eat it

  9. If it is a latex paint there is a product called "Oops!" that will remove it fairly easily. It is safe for most fabrics - but test on a small spot first. You can get it at any chain store or home improvement chain in the paint section. Good luck.

  10. Remove Paint

Wipe off any dried acrylic or water-based paint residue with a paper towel. Sponge on a solution of laundry detergent and warm water. Once the paint has softened, remove as much as possible with a dull knife or a spoon. Rinse and repeat until most of the stain has been

Oil based paint should be removed with a solvent such as White Spirit, Turpentine, Methylated Spirit or a better solvent you could try dry cleaning solvent, just the same a water based you need to dampen a rag or sponge and dab the paint stain from the outside in, then use a detergent solution to remove the solvents Good Luck !

  11. If it's just a few splashes of paint then let it dry and gently rub with very rough sandpaper. If you're careful you'll get it all up from the carpet without damaging the carpet. Then just vacuum the bits up.

In my experience, using solvents will just spread the paint around.

  12. white spirit

  13. A knife or scissors.

Seriously, you might be best off to cut out the damaged portion of the carpet and patch in a bit from a closet or other inconspicuous place (under a couch etc!)

Most methdos to remoe the paint will damage the carpet enough (presuming the paint has dried) that you'll end up with a better solution by patching the spot/blob.

  14. sandpaper may do it have a go

  15. I;m watching this question closely as I have the same problem with gloss paint. I put white spirit on it as soon as it happened.

  16. As below except eat it - don't think that one works!
