What tastes good with whiskey?

I'm off to university, and its gonna be a whole lot easier to drink liquor then beer. I used to drink whiskey alot, but usually just mixed it with pepsi. Anyone know some good combo's? something that may take the taste away.

Errr... I suppose you could try coke.

But personally whiskey, in my opinion, should be sipped straight or on the rocks (assuming it is good whiskey).

If you want to "take the taste away", vodka is your liquor. Whiskey is meant to be enjoyed for its flavor. If you insist, whiskey and ginger ale works pretty well.

or just drink brandy

Gingerale is good. It's how I first had whiskey.

A friend of mine likes his with rootbeer. But that's because he can't get rootbeer in the N.E. corner of England (easily) and when he drinks it that way, no one else will touch it. lol

Coke, seven up, lemon or lime juice with sugar, beer, grape juice, coffee, sweet vermouth, or more whisky.

Honestly, NOTHING.

Most people who drink whiskey are hard core, and just drink it on the rocks.
