What tattoo would be ideal for my husband?

My husband is looking to get his FIRST tattoo and he hasn't quite found THE one. He wants his first one to be simple and cheap but also meaningful. We've looked through some themes such as a guardian or protector theme (like eagles and wings) because he has 4 younger siblings he feels he's had to protect and who mean the world to him. He also loves music and is thinking about some type of guitar or music symbols. He really liked one of a samurai soldier with his head down, kneeling with a sword and big wings but its probably too expensive and big for his first tattoo. The biggest problem is finding one thats completely masculine and strong and in no way feminine. Please help!

tricky one here!! my first bit of advice would be for him to be definite on the design he wants for at least six months before getting it inked... i have 2 tatts that i wish i'd thought a bit more about first! I like the idea of a (very masculine) angel, but it may be too intricate for a first. perhaps looking at symbols/other languages for 'protector' and seeing if that would fit. you could incorporate that with a music symbol.. sorry, just pictured in my head a full back peice of tablature for the song 'im a beleiver' .. don't ask lol! I agree with going with something small for the first one.. it can always be extended on later. I really like the idea of finding something that symbolises his protection over his siblings.. thats just beautiful :)

I like the guardian siblings thing. That's kind of what my brother is getting for his first tattoo. It's supposed to be a dragon, he's always been into dragons and is facsinated by them, with his wings wrapped around a roo (baby kangaroo), my nickname has alway been roo or roo-roo. So it's like the big older brother dragon is protecting his little kangaroo sister. Sweet, eh?

He should go to a tattoo artist's shop to look at what's available and to find out how much the whole thing will cost.  That's the best thing to do.  Always go to the person who knows the most about something.

I'd recommend thai traditional tattoo  cause  thai believe that tattoo can offer Good luck ,Good Health, Protection and Blessing . And every symbol has its own meaning too. Like Jolie did, she got thai tattoo for protecting her children.

The only good advice anyone can offer is: TAKE YOUR TIME. It's with you for the rest of your life. It took me over 9 years to decide on my first tattoo because there were so many good choices. I finally got one that is based on my religion.
