  1. Ok, I'm a Mets fan and I would love to say that we're the best fans...but we're not. We've booed our players so many times. I'd have to say the St.Louis Cardinals have the best fans because when the mets were playing them, the Cardinals where loosing by alot in the bottom of the 9th and the whole stadium was up on their feet and cheering their team on. I was so amazed.

  2. I'm an O's girl at heart, and for half of my life I lived in Baltimore, where the magic number is 8, not 7, and the name Cal Ripken Jr. brought a smile to every face...

I mean, the team isn't doing well at the moment (rebuilding again), but that just means we've gotten rid of the bandwagoners! Hehe, now only the real fans are left...

I think any team that has little or no bandwagoners have the best fans...

I know plenty of great Red Sox and Yankee fans, but I also know plenty of Red Sox and Yankee bandwagoners, so I can't say they're the best.

My opinion is that any team who's not doing too well or wasn't doing well recently has the best fans, because they have the fans that have and will stick with them through thick and thin, through countless disappointments and heartbreak... (Wow, that was corny... But true.)

So, yeah.  Not any one specific team, just any team that doesn't have bandwagoners. (Here in Texas, as a Rangers fan, I think we're safe from that...  Seeing as there's no pitching... But hey, our offense is fun to watch!)

  3. I would say it would be a Yankees/Red sox game, This game would renew the biggest rivalry in sports entertainment. Every game like this would be soldout, it dosent matter if its at fenway or the stadium, these games are the best

  4. The Sox have way too many bandwagon fans nowadays. If you asked me before 2004, you may have had a better case for the Sox having the best fans. I think the Cardinals though. They are just fans of baseball in general. I remember in '05 when the Astros beat the Cards to go to the World Series, the Cardinals fans even cheered for them. They knew that their team was beaten. That takes a lot. You never hear them booing their players or anything. I haven't been to every stadium to judge for myself, but just off of what I've seen, the Cardinals have the best fans. They throw their support behind their team 100%.

  5. Yankee's has best fans

  6. The St. Louis Cardinals.

I'm a Red Sox fan, too, but I'm not about to say that we have these perfect fans, because we don't. The Red Sox' success has attracted a lot of classless bandwagon losers. (Just to put it bluntly).

I've come across my fair share of awful Red Sox fans and awful Yankee fans, but I've honestly met maybe one or two rude Cardinal fans.

I went to game 3 of the '04 World Series at Busch and I'll always remember this one specific incident... I stood up to cheer after Manny got a home run, and when I sat down, the guy next to me said something like "Red Sox fans deserve this more than Cardinal fans. Good luck." I was really shocked...I was used to fans of other teams saying things like "1918 is gonna live on!" lol.

  7. I'm glad you got two answers from people that didn't pick their own team.  (that's cool)

Most people, including yourself, will obviously pick the team that you follow.  Why, well, that's probably 99% of the games you've attended.  Greta had a really positive experience in another city, so she voted for them.

But really, how many of us have actually been to every ball park, and enough times to accurately judge the decency of fans.

I've only been to games in Detroit, LA (Dodgers) and Toronto.

So, how could I accurately have an opinion on Philadelphia fans, or Mariner's fans except for venues like this, which have an EXTREMELY SMALL sample size.

And, just for clarification, how many people do you actually know that stood by the Red Sox for 86 years?  That's like a 94 year old fan.....

  8. Depends on how you define best fans.  Red Sox sell out alot because there stadium seating capacity is only 39, 928.  In many parks thats a night game attendance.  Take a look at Yankee stadium that averages over 45,000 per game every day and night.  Boston and the Yankees and other teams with success have bandwagon fans.  Amazing how the Red Sox didn't have so many road fans until they won a world series.

The best fans are Cubs fans.  They aren't mean and nasty like Red Sox and Yankee fans can be to each other, and when their rival comes to town, they aren't abusive to the other players and other fans.

  9. I must go with the Red Sox or Cubs fans.  It is like a religion, not just being a fan.  We take losses especially playoff losses right to heart.  I stared into blank space for it seemed like hours when Boone put that ball into left field in the 11th.  I imagine Cubs feel much the same way, when Bartman is mentioned.  Watch the 2004 dvd of the Red Sox World Series, and you will be convinced.  And when the Cubbies win their next title, I imagine it will be very much the same.

Just this past weekend, David Ortiz was at Pawtucket, the Red Sox AAA affilliate for a rehab assignment.  It sold out 3 consecutive games, and tix were going for $50 a piece!!!

I disagree with the poster who said the Brooklyn Dodgers had the best fans, if they did then why did they move?  Even when they were in pennant races they weren't selling out games. Even their final game the stands were nearly empty.

  10. I love the Cards, as far as support I would say yes us, as far as knowledge of the game I would say Red Sox or Yankees.  Here in St. Lous you get alot of divorced moms just wanting to hang out and not really know what is going on, like the game is secondary to them hanging out with friends, that is why I like the Blues games better.  In Boston and New York, they hang on every pitch and know what is going on.

  11. Yankees, because the stadium always has at least 50,000 people on it and we are always loud throught the entire game. We cheer the people that deserve to be cheered and boo the ones who are not doing their job.

  12. YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

  13. cubs

  14. If you want to talk about waiting then try being a Cubs fan.

I have been a Cubs fan my whole life and wouldn't trade them for any team.

  15. the cubs have the best fans. nobody likes bandwagon fans like red sox fans or yankees fans. I like the orioles and the cubs and I HATE the red sux their  fans are so annoying. I hope the team never wins

  16. I'll give my vote to the Cards and Cubs.

I have been to numerous Cardinal and Cubs games, and I believe that it is a much more civilized rivalry. The Cardinal fans show a lot of respect, and a lot of Cub fans show deep commitment to their team for 100 years, win or lose, with the exception of a select few and despite what most Cub Haters think.

Whether it is at Busch or Wrigley, there aren't any altercations and is genuinely a fun clean baseball experience.

  17. i think that Red Sox fans are the worst and that Yankee fans are the best. i feel this way not only b/c i am a die hard yankee fan, but b/c all the Boston fans i know are negative towards the game if they loose (aka sore losers) whereas us Yankee fans say there is always a tomorrow, although we don't have to say that too often!!!

  18. Red Sox

  19. im a sox fan to, and i have to say that they do have the best fans. because they are ALWAYS sold out at fenway. and theyv'e always been their for their team evan threw their "curse". also their are always a ton of sox fans at away games.

  20. I grew up with the O's and when they played at Memorial Stadium I thought we had the best fans.  Even in '88 when the team was horrific that place would rock when Cal or Eddie came to bat.  Camden Yards has really changed the complexion of the fan base.

I think Cleveland has the best fans.  I always have a good time at The Jake discussing/arguing in a friendly manner with their fans.  (That is, no one gets crazy drunk and wants to fight the way all the NYY/BOS fans at Camden Yards do.  Where were y'all 10 years ago?  No seriously, where were you?)  As for sellout crowds, The Jake sold out for about 450 games too only the team didn't actually win a WS.

  21. It's the team whose fans are fans in good times AND bad times.

  22. The greatest fans in history were the fans of the Brooklyn Dodgers. They were always in the shadow of the Yankees and even the Giants to a degree, but stuck by their team because it represented borough pride. Many Brooklynites at the time still felt that they were in competition with Manhattan even though by then they were one city. Dodgers fans lived and died by their team, who they affectionately referred to as "Dem Bums" because it seemed they let them down year after year. But everyone in Brooklyn had an affection for their Dodgers. They may have been bums, but they were their bums.

It was said that you could walk a residential block in Brooklyn during a game, and not miss a pitch on the radio, because you'd hear the game on the radio coming out of the open windows of every house you passed.

When the team left for Los Angeles in 1957 many Dodgers fans felt a part of them died.

I'm a Yankees fan, but I won't say the Yankees have the best fans. We have some of the more passionate, but I'm not sure I'd call them the best.

EDIT: Everyone has the right to thumbs down, but if you thumbs down this answer it makes me think you don't have a sense of baseball history. There is more to baseball than the current stats and standings.

  23. Buckner was the '86 series.. some fan you are. Which is why you can't be the best fans. 8 yrs ago I didn't know a Red Sux fan and now they are every where. They are loud and obnoxious and still 17 World Championships behind my team... All in all I would say St Louis. Gracious fans who to even their rivals Astros are surprisingly civil. They applaud the great ones and have a great knowledge of baseball.

Me and a friend went to a game at Fenway where I wore a Yankees shirt and then we went to a game in the bronx where he wore a Red Sux shirt, and even he hated you guys by the time we got home. You guys are A$$holes. Even Maxim the magazine had an article about idiotic you people were. So please don't try to convince anyone that the Sux fans are the best.. and using your argument.. if 75% of the fans on the road are Red Sux fans how does that explain why they are so bad on the road... it makes no sense.

  24. I live near Pittsburgh, so I really can't help but admire Pirates fans.

The Pirates lose every year. Their management is screwed up. They have a gorgeous stadium that doesn't fill up unless there are fireworks, a concert, or the Yankees come to town.

Yet instead of being callous, Bucs fans find it in them to laugh at themselves and their team. I know some die hard fans who aren't embarrassed to wear Pirates apparel. They honestly believe that every year could be it.

If you truly believe in a team that's been losing for fifteen years, you must be a true fan.

  25. Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, I'll nominate my hometown Milwaukee Brewers.  Maybe we don't sell out every game, but we aren't just a small market team - we are the smallest television market in MLB.  That just shows how impressive it is that Ryan Braun was able to jump over that many people to make the all-star game.  On top of that, Corey Hart was voted in with the final vote when paired up against 4 VERY talented players with bigger names on the national level.

Though all that said, I have read numerous times about how great the Cardinals' fans are, and my family had much to say after attending a Brewers-Cards game at the new Busch stadium.

  26. Never got disappointed, huh?  Were you alive in 1986?  Bill Buckner feared for his life.

Red Sox fans have become everything they used to hate:

Obnoxious jerks that are always bragging about how good their city and team is.

Cubs fans sell out every game no matter if they win 90 or lose 90....and they have been doing it for 100 years with no title.

  27. Cub fans are real fans. THey haven't won in 100 years and still they have one of the best followings in baseball. A few years ago I might have reluctantly said red sox (go Mets) because of their popularity with the lack of a world series, but now the boston fans that were once loveable are now annoying and quite greedy to tell the truth. The yankees have to many bandwagon fans to have the best fans, so the best has to be cub fans. I've never met a cub fan i didnt like, but then again, ehat do they have to talk **** about? ha.

  28. I really think no one has the best fans.  It's like if you go to Yankee Stadium.  If they see a Boston fan there, they give them the "@$$hole" chant.  If you go to Fenway and they see a Yankee fan, they do pretty much the same thing.  If you go to any ballpark, they will do that with whoever their team's rival is.  So anyone will boo certain players, fans and whoever.  You don't find it with just Boston or New York.  And I'm a Yankee fan, and I definitely don't think the Yankees or Red Sox have the best fans.

  29. Been to all of these ballparks.

1 - LA Angels - Loudest most into it fans in the league

2- St Louis cardinals - most intelligent

3 -  Cubbies - most committed and very smart

4  Detroit - Rude fans but they are loud and never leave early.  (employment sucks there too)

5 - San fran - They always wear something nice and hardly ever wear team shirts or hats.  They have the most fun of any team though.

6- Boston red sox - SMART committed fans IN BOSTSON ! outside are just bandwaggon ignorant fools

7 - NY Yankees - Lots of History and Championships, whats not to love.  (All fans are the same though)  They will not listen to anyone that isnt a yankee fan.

8 - Tampa Rays - Anywhere from 18 years old to 90 year old fans loving the game.  Though they need a new place for their stadium to get more attendance.

9 - Chicago White Sox - Angry, loud, obnoxious fans.  But it's a blast to be there.

10 Braves - 2nd most Hats sold after NYY.

  30. This comes up every year and every year the players and executives and sports writers have said the same thing: It's the St. Louis Cardinal fans.

As long as the Cards and Cubs have been rivalries there has never been an altercation over a baseball game in Busch Stadium or outside before or after the game.

St. Louis fans get along and respect fans of visiting teams and have forever.

Can't say that about either the Red Sox or Yankee fans.

You go ahead and give the 10-points to the person that agrees with you.
