i hope i answer this question correctly but if i understand you it sounds like you think they mean hitting gap when the sign is actually an ad for the clothing company gap. the gap is owned by the same company that owns the bananna republic and old navy and all of those companys are based in the bay area.when mlb started having ads on the outfield walls again i remember first seeing an ad for the gap on the sf giants outfield, i think they were in candlestick apark t the time. hope this helps.
