Honestly, it's up in the air in my opinion.  The Sabres might have been the best in the east this year had they been able to keep Drury, Briere, Marty Biron, and Brian Campbell.  We saw what happened after they left.  The Rangers were the better team this year and they should have been.  With all the veteran help they've brought in they should be playing for the cup, but they're not.  That's been the case over the last few years.  Now, there's the potential that Jagr could leave.  Brendan Shanahan is breaking down...and I've heard talk that they might fire their coach.  Seems like Rangers fans are tired of seeing all this talent, but no Cup.  So, it goes back and forth.  Maybe the Sabres will bring in some skilled veterans in the off season and make the playoffs next year, while the rangers barely miss the playoffs because they lost some key guys to other teams.  Who knows..??
