What team will Montreal defeat next year in the Cup Finals?

Yeah no way Calgary or the Habs will make the finals next year.  I'm thinking San Jose/Pittsburg with the Pens winning it.  I'd rather see the Wings win it again but probly not.

Montreal will not get that far. They have young players but do not have any grit. They are also an offensive team. Depending when they play pittsburgh they will be eliminated. Pittsburgh is better in every single aspect. No chance for montreal

That must be a fantasy finals...last I heard from my higher authority is that the Dallas Stars where winning it all in 7, skating the cup on home ice!!!

Now I have not heard who they will beat, but you can bet that I will be in attendance as Marty Turco and company celebrate bringing the cup back home!!!

Did any of you people watch the Red Wings dominate this postseason?  And Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen and Kronwall are just entering their prime.  The core of this team will be intact next year, with another year of playoff experience under their belt, and I have no reason to believe that they will not make another run for the cup.  Keep picking the Sharks though, that has really worked out well.  The Red Wings have the perfect mixture of young talent and veteran leadership to be a monster for several years to come.  Be afraid.

I think it will be Montreal/Detroit in the Finals... depending, of course, of the health of the two teams.  Don't think Pittsburgh will have the bulk of the heart and soul guys back.  Nor do I think they can rebound from this heartbreak just yet.  Give them a few years.  My guess is that Pittsburgh will try for last place again so they can get another top 5 draft pick.

I'd like to see it being an habs fan but lets get through the off season first and see who makes what moves.

In the east i expect the Habs to be better being a year older and I think they will bring in another top 6 forward.  The Rangers will probably be better.  Flyers will be improved as young guys gain a year of experience.  

The Penguins- depends on what happens in the offseason.  I do not expect them to make it back to the finals next year.  They are going to have salary cap issues and will not be able to resign Hossa, malone will get big money elsewhere that Pittsburgh can't afford to pay him.  The cheap serviceable players were all traded away to get Hossa.  Now we will see the cost of that trade.

uhm. woah. don't you think thats pretty far ahead? not to be a cocky wings fan, but i want somebody to name a reson why the wings cant win back to back. its going to be basically the exact same team, just with a few more young amazing players. watch out for us again, and prepare better. nobody did this season. and being physical won't work with us, because we brought it back harder.

It would take a Calgary/Montreal Finals for a Canadian team to win the Cup again.  Montreal won't get to the Finals next year.  They'll be lucky if they do as well next season as they did this season.
