What technolgies can help long-distance couples see each other?

My boyfriend and I met on eHarmony last year, and we currently live 600 miles apart. Because of the distance (and therefore major gas expenses), we don't get to see each other in person very often, but our bond is just so extraordinary and fulfilling!

I was wondering though...what different options are there, for couples who would like to see each other's faces while they are apart? What technologies are available for this? We're looking for a relatively low-cost way to actually see each other, when we're so far apart. Right now all I can think of are webcams...is that the only option?

get either a webcam or a nice laptop. they have higher quality ones so it is easier to see and to talk. this shoulkd be appropriate for you.

A webcam is the cheapest.  There are full wall size video conference systems availible but the only place I've seen it was at the VA hospital.
