    They used catapults to throw grenades over the top and into opposing trenches.

  3. there were many different technologies used in the trenches including the periscope, the periscope and drip rifles (invented by the Australian's, the drip-gun was invented to help the Australians in their retreat from Gallipoli in which there were no casualties and the Turkish soldiers had no idea about it until morning. it worked by using dripping water to fill a small container which pulled the trigger when full and gave the illusion that troops were shooting back) and the periscope rifle worked like a sniper rifle but the shooter could fire from the safety of the trench.
