  1. I use:

-Digital Camera-great for capturing moments to show parents, put in chidlrens achievement books and to make books with the children (they take photos and make own books)

-Photocopier-children press the buttons and find out how to make it work-they like seeing their pictures and writing multiply. Its great because you can make copies of their pictures so you can keep one and so can the children.

-Remote control car-it teaches directions, positional language, ICT control, social skills-sharing, map following-literacy.

I'm also a fan of the PC if child is with adult or other children as it can be used for social development and communication skills.

I also like the pretend ICT toys such as play microwave, cooker ,telephone etc as it lets them explore everyday ICT they are normally told not to touch at home.

  2. II teach kindergarten, and my favorite piece of technology is the old record player that i found in the back of the storage room. :) I use it every day. The kids love it too. I also use leap frog leap pads a lot.

The record player is like what I had when I was a kid. I use it to play Hap Palmer and other learning music.

The leapfrogs are easy for the kids to use and provide sound and visual for letter and number work and pre reading and reading skills.

  3. I use alot of assistive technology with my preschoolers.  Many of them are unable to communicate by speaking, so I have many different pieces of technology that help them to use the computer, request items, request help...food...going to the bathroom ect.

  4. I teach preschool and I try to use as little technology as possible, because kids at this age need as much hands on as possible.  So I might use a CD player, with a book on tape, or listen to music.  We do not have a TV or computer in the class room.  I do not feel it is important at this age.  They will get it when they are at home and when they go to elementary school.
