i am thinking about getting a hamster, but it would have to stay in my room, and my room is in the basement. It's always cold down there (not freezing) but its never warm unless i turn on the heater. So about what temp. should i keep my room at if i was to get a hamster?

  1. They should be kept at room temperture which is normally 65-75 degrees. If it gets too cold they may go into hibernation "mode." In the summer you should be fine because between the heat and the cold basement there would probally a good balance. Late fall, winter, and early spring means you would prabllly need your heater or something similar to keep you hamster warm. Also make sure the heater is not to close to the cage as it could make it to hot there.

    Hope this helps!!

    Good luck!!

  2. I heard that it is good for them to stay in 75 degrees temperature
