What temperature is your fridge at and what kind is it.?

I have a Hoover brand with a single motor the fridge doesnt get below 10c its usually at 15 and its turned right up.

The freezer is to cold as it freezes soft scoop icecream solid

It is Polish made and came off a wrecked trawler.  

There is no temperture control.  The apple brandy

and cuts of salt beef are ice hard.

Man you need to turn your freezer temp down if it's freezing your ice cream solid!  You'll save a lot of electricity as the fridge is the biggest energy consuming appliance in most households.

Mine is an old GE fridge, the temp is set to 2 (out of 5), as apparently it doesn't calculate the temp in degrees.

We have a Hotpoint - fridge at +4°C and freezer at -18°C.  This was the advised temperatures in the book.
