I here people use the term to describe warm, summer weather, but I always wondered what the temperature range it referred to was.

  1. Yep a range is called for.

I prefer the range of 75 to 90 degrees. Below 75, my feet get a little chilled. Above the 90 degree mark and ground that is not grass or vegetation (sand,  bare dirt, concrete or asphalt) is too hot to be comfortable, especially in the sun.

  2. 70 degrees for me

  3. I always go barefoot, because the weather here in Brazil is always hot!

  4. Probably 70-90. That's when the ground is just right (not too cool & not too hot) and going barefoot outside feels the best.

I see a number of people starting to kick off sandals and walk around barefoot at our kids soccer games in the park (including my free-spirited wife and some of her SUV-driving girl friends), so we must be getting close to that time of year.

(I also admit I was guilty of this last weekend. I was teaching my kids how to play croquet in the backyard and "daddy" (me) wasn't wearing his shoes either.)

  5. at least 50 degrees. but then again I wear flip flops year round. Even in 10 feet of snow, just don't walk IN the snow.

  6. I barefoot full time all year round. I have barefooted through two Chicago winters leaving footprints in the snow. Its really up to you as to how much cold you can or even want to handle. Just know that frostbite is a possibility and be smart about it. Try it and you'll be suptrised how much a good healthy pair of feet can take.

  7. i say anything between 55-100 degrees,it all depends on the individual

  8. As soon as I can stand it without freezing to death!

  9. I'm another year-round barefooter; I go barefoot in freezing weather and all the way up to the hottest we ever got here (about 40C/104F). But as such, I wouldn't use the term 'barefoot weather', as it wouldn't describe anything. And I really don't hear anyone else use it here in the Netherlands; seeing anyone else go barefoot or even refer to it is very rare, even when it is nice weather. People rarely object to seeing me barefoot -no rules in stores and restaurants, etc- but they also keep their own footwear firmly glued onto their own feet. Even sandals don't come out until it's really full summer!

  10. 65'F or higher.

  11. In Southern California, I go barefoot (not full-time) from as cold as 40 degrees to as hot as 100 or more. Yah, the asphalt does get hot but after a while you learn to adjust or to move quickly. (it sorta feels good, actually)

  12. Well, for being barefoot all day outside, probably at least 50 degrees.  However, if I'm in and out, it can be a little cooler than that.

For my barefoot morning run, I want the temperature over freezing, but beyond that, I'm fine.
