Question:

What tennis racket should I get?

I am someone who has played, though inconsistently, over the past 5 years, and is looking to get a new racket. I am not looking to spend a fortune on a racket, but would like a nice one to use when I do play. Also I am more of a baseline player. Any suggestions?

  1. William or Prince rackets are good. it depends on which racket works 4 you

  2. as you can see, there are a few answers which recommend the rackets that they use and feel it's the best.

what you must remember is this: what seems the best racket for one player need not necessary mean it works also for you.

i've worked with lots of players over the years. everybody hits differently...........the feel of the ball.........coordination.........etc......

as you have not mentioned much about your playing style except you're a baseliner and not looking to spend a fortune on a racket, it may be advisable to go demo a few rackets before you make any decision.

maybe you can demo:1. HEAD Flexpoint Intinct Team.

it has good power, light, good control

and topspin and has even balance.

                                           2. HEAD Microgel Extreme

it's heavier than the Instinct but very

                                              good control and power.

                                          3.  Wilson KBlade Team

                                              suficient power and control. plays

well if you hit the ball hard.

but you have to demo the rackets to try it out for yourself.

do not base your judgement on what you see the pros use.

nearly all their rackets have been customized to suite them.

    have fun!!!!

  3. I have a Wilson Ncode 5.  It works pretty well. I like it.  My mom has a Wilson Triad 3 but it is for older not as flexible players.  I would go with a Wilson Ncode.

  4. Don't want to spend too much money?  Look here:

    http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/catpage-...

They're all good racquets that are just a little older than the newest stuff, so they are cheap.

If you don't go to the net much, balance won't be such an issue for you.  Mainly, I'd be concerned about weight.  I usually say to buy the heaviest racquet you can handle without it being cumbersome.  Basically, this will give you as much control as possible, while still being able to hit the ball hard enough.  It's also better this way, because the racquet will keep working well for you as you improve.

Suggestions from that list?  I'll give you some of the slightly heavier models:

    Head Liquidmetal Radical

    Wilson nPro open

Prince Triple Threat Warrior (love this racquet)

    Volkl Tour 9 v-engine

    Prince O3 tour midplus

Prince Tour NXG graphite Midplus (a very heavy racquet, pretty demanding)

If you aren't sure about weight, demo some at a local pro shop.  Try one that's about 11 oz and one that's about 12.  If both seem too heavy, go a little less than 11 oz.  If both seem fine, you can pretty much go with any racquet on the market.

  5. well, my racket is an amazing one with incredible speed and duribility.  true, A bit costly, but its worth it!!! the PRINCE SPEEDPORT BLACK 03 is amazing.  The holes on the edge allow u to swing faster and smoother.  Get a demo and try it out. u wont be sorry!!!!

  6. You should definetly choose a Wilson racket. They have the most power, and mostly all of the top players use them. I personally have the Wilson tour 10 racket.

Also i think yellow colored rackets are the best. I have never lost a match using a yellow racket.
