i don't care about that but the one thing that i'm proud about for being an ethiopian is the fact that ethiopia was never under any rule and that they beat the Itallians during world war II 3 whole times! Now that's pride!!

Ethiopia is the country that has been uncolonized the longest (except for a brief period during World War II when it was under Italian rule).  Liberia is the second longest (formed by freed slaves).  As for the Ghana answer by Andrew S, Ghana was the first sub-sahara country to gain it's independence (in 1957).
