What the Qur'an says about the crucification of Jesus?

Do some Christians believe this?

Roughly translated from Arabic to English it says:

'When We made a covenant with them We raised the Mount above them and said 'Enter the gates in adoration. Do not brake the Sabbath.' We took from them a solemn covenant. But they broke their covenant, denied the revelations of God, and killed the prophets unjustly. They said: 'Our hearts are sealed'.

It is God who has sealed their hearts, on account of their unbelief. They have no faith, except a few of them. They denied the truth and uttered a monstrous falsehood against Mary.

They declared: 'We have put to death the Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, the apostle of God.' They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but they thought they did (Or, literally, 'he was made to resemble another of them'.

Those that disagreed about him were in doubt concerning him; they knew nothing about him that was not sheer conjecture; they did not slay him for certain. God lifted him up Himself; God is mighty and wise. There is none among the People of the Book but will believe in him before his death; and on the Day of Resurrection he will bear witness against them.'

Do some Christians believe this?

Please answer with politeness that means no taboos or immature answers. Don't argue - discuss.

Thanks

  1. Actually being polite there are those who claim Christ as the Muslims do without believing the words of Christ.

To be a believer in the true Jesus Christ one must surely believe his words.

I assure you there are no Christians who do not believe in the atonement of Jesus Christ though many claim him and are not Christian.

    Jesus said

John 6: 49 Your fathers did eat amanna in the wilderness, and are dead.

50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.

    Jesus also said

John 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.

38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.

39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have alife.

41 I receive not honour from men.

42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.

43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.

47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Now may I ask you Miss Muslimah, Why would God deceive his people to believe in the atonement of Christ?

Knowing that people would go for 600 years being born and dieing believing in a lie that he himself instigated with no true word from God for 600 years?

Is God a liar and he judges those he himself decieved?

Who is the liar? Accroding tot he true word of God it is Satan the one who deceived Eve in the garden to believe the first lie that sin is not death.

Can you recognize this same lie today?

Sin does not equal death God is not righteous but he weighs sin.

You do not need a Savior you can earn you way to heaven.

These are the lies of Satan.

All men sin and all men die and this is the reason the Son became flesh.

  2. Baloney ...past expiry date

  3. no..

God didnt write that book. Its false.

  4. The Qur'an doesn't say that. That's an interpolation, an added phrase in the Hilal translation. They added words to the Qur'an.

What it says is that the semblance of his death was made for them...the people who were there.

He seemed to die. Not that he was replaced. It was a semblance of the state of death, not of another man.

    That's it.

    Edit:

Erm...Even the Prophets died. The innocent die quite a lot, free of sin. Animals are pretty adept at dying and how can they refute God?

As for the deceit of the crucifixion, Is something wrong about God undermining the people who tried to kill the messenger? The people who did anything they could to fight His design?

If the Christians will accept the historical accounts and teachings of the same people who tried to kill the Messiah, then who should accept the blame of deceit? Where was Saul from, anyway?

DJ: The innocent die. Sinless and dead.  so...?

As for weighing sin...Allah is the Forgiver. He takes into account virtuous deeds in judgement and forgives as He will, the Most Just of Judges. And He never wrongs any of his creatures. Its there in the Qur'an.

  5. this happened

and the Holy Quran is the talk of ALLAH

  6. Have you seen THE MOVIE ZEIGEIST about the roots of religion?

  7. i see no reason to beleive this. the eyewitness accounts, both christian and non-christian say that Jesus was crucified. we have the testimony of His disciples, the non-christian talmud, and non-christian josephus flavius all attesting to the fact that Jesus was in fact crucified. when st peter was crucified in rome, he requested to be crucified up-side-down because he was "unworthy to die in the same way as his master." this fact is also attested to by pegan, non-christian sources.

mohammed, on the other hand, wrote the koran hundreds of years after the fact. we have no reason to beleive that what mohammed wrote was given to him by GOD. the test of a prophet is whether or not any of his prophecies came to fruition. mohammed made no real prophecies. he basically took the stories from jewish and christian scriptures and gave his own little spin on them. its really not based on anything.

  8. They do not believe Jesus got crucified. They think He escaped
