What the Vancouver Canucks need to do to finally win the Stanley Cup -NHL Special Part 4
Exceptional Goalie Performance and the Will to Win
In this last instalment of the Vancouver Canucks National Hockey League (NHL) special, we will discuss probably what is most important to the Canadian franchise in them finally winning a much needed Stanley Cup championship.
There is no surprise in the fact that the players are basically on the edge of their seats and do not have more patience to give to the team in terms of time for them to improve any further. Vancouver is one of the best teams in the league and definitely
has a lot of potential in all regards but the biggest factor in them not succeeding in the playoffs is certainly and without a doubt, their weakness in terms of goaltending.
Roberto Luongo is an exceptional goalie, do not get me wrong on that, but there have been moments during times when they needed him the most that he lost it all and choked immensely, costing them the Stanley Cup during the 2011 Stanley Cup in Game Seven
against the Boston Bruins, that too in their own home stadium.
Tim Thomas overpowered Roberto Luongo and Vancouver Canucks to get the Boston Bruins their first Stanley Cup in over 40 years and Jonathan Quick also did the same when he led the Los Angeles Kings to their first championship in franchise history this year
despite being one of the youngest in the field.
All it takes is true determination and Roberto Luongo proved that during the offseason that it was one of the biggest things he lacked, which ultimately cost the Vancouver Canucks the cup and a run for it again in 2012.
Corey Schneider has been tipped off to be their number-one when the next season comes around and it will require him to give it his all in order to prove to the Vancouver Canucks that they did make a good choice in choosing him as their top goalie in net.
It will be tough in all regards as a number of teams are looking to make it big next time around, but only time will tell whether they can perform at a higher level and actually make it count when the playoffs come.
