  1. Makes more room inside, and uses as much of the available space as possible for living space. Also gives a very classic, intemporal look to the boat, not agressive


  2. Also add protection to any crew that work on the rear of the ship (from waves coming over the bow)

  3. Try operating a ship in a heavy fog... then ask me this question again... even a "forward bridge" is not far enough forward in the fog.

  4. to be able to see as far as possible in front of ship, it takes long time to avoid some thing in water that radar has not picked up.

  5. Nothing to do with being classic...or fog....or room behind it...that's coincidental....it's all about being able to see over the bow of the ship.
