  1. i dont really know of an amp that will be 800 watts rms at 1 ohm and one that is 800 watts rms at 4 ohm might get expensive. i will only suggest you a CEA compliant amp because i would not give you experimental advice. so here is an amp that is 1000 watts rms at 1 ohm http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6720... but you could also try to get one of these amps http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1170... from Craig's list for your price and then you can run it at 4 ohm

  2. OK the subs are 400watts RMS each, not 800watts RMS- that's their peak/max wattage

so the amp needed will have about 800watts RMS @ 4ohms (or you could use two amps and have each sub wired separately to the amps at 2ohms) and also CEA-compliant which means that the amp makes of exceeds the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion, here are the CEA-compliant companies

    Alpine

    Bazooka

    Blaupunkt

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity

    JBL

    JL Audio

    Kenwood

    Kicker

    MTX

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio

    Rockford Fosgate

    Sony

  3. If you can spring for an additional $30, I'd go this route:

$330 to your door isn't bad and you'll get an Alpine amp that can run your subs at 3/4 RMS in a 4 ohm load.  Alpine/Kicker combo is nice, in my opinion.  Will knock hard ...
