I'm pretty rubbish at languages, but I really want to learn German. Can anybody give me creative ideas that may help learning the language.

Thanks.

  1. Try the Rosetta Stone course. It may be quite fascinating for you.

  2. Marry a German,

  3. Hello,

German teachers tell me that one should go all the way or not bother trying at all. As with any language you need a lot of class work (8 hours a week), home work, numerous written exercises, grammar drills and interaction with German speaking people to catch on well.

German is somewhat more difficult than Spanish or French since it is an inflected language with noun declensions etc.

    Cheers,

  4. go to german learning classes

  5. Try this site where they teach you German free on line.

    www.deutsch-lernen.com/

  6. The best way to learn German would be to get arrested in Germany.  The police and other inmates wouldn't care about speaking English with you.

  7. Go to germany and talk to people.

  8. go to your local college and start an evening class. i did last year and was completely inspired.

i went to college because personally i can't learn by reading books, nor video tutorials nor audiobooks. i had to have someone infront of me talking to me and correcting me. Plus there were other students there to practise on.

And of course there's the social side of it. I got to know a few of the other students and we would go to the pub afterwards to chat.....and stuff!

  11. It all depends where you live and what facilities are available to you.

If there a German cultural center near by try to sign up for a short course.

Or may be try some other institution which offer such a course

If there is none then try with some self learning materials.

But the best way to speak German fluently is to stick around some german friends.

    All the best.

  12. Hi,

There's a pretty cool website out there called,"How to Learn Any Language".  It looks like the site can help you lean German too.

    Good Luck, and have fun!

  13. The best way is to imerse yourself in the language.  German children seem to have very little difficulty learning the language, so, just go to Germany.

  14. I think you should see if there is a class near your or someone who cna help teach you it.

You could also try using CD's or books to learn.

However i think the best way to learn is with someone teaching you, as german grammar is quite complicated to a new learner.

thats something those CDs dont teach you.

    Hope that helps a bit!

  15. I think that probably the best way to learn German is to attend a local German class at a college in the evenings. You would find it much easier to learn German and you can meet other people too. Alternatively you could try a German CD but it won't work as well.

  16. In a German-speaking country. Full immersion is the best way ever. Believe me: it works (I speak 5 languages).
