  1. The first thing I do is to make the visitor at ease, and feel at home. Having come from far away means the visitor is unfamiliar with the new territory, and so he needs to be comfortable with the new terrain.

Having come from far away means the visitor took a long trip, and would be a bit tired. Even with the excitement that comes with getting to a new place, people need to rest their tired bodies. So, a short warm welcome should be sufficient, and then immediately offer the guest some space, and a comfortable bed to rest in. Of course after he has been fed, even with a light meal.

After recovery from the tiresome trip, I think helping the guest work out an itinerary would be most helpful. And a sumptuous meal should precede the first trip out of the house, to make sure the guest would have the energy to do the things he would like to do on a typically short visit.

  2. give them a kiss on tha cheek, handshake, hug? h**l i dont know

  3. well you could welcome them by looking up one of there welcoming cultures

  4. I think you show them the place where they're going to live, so they will be familiar with their neighborhood.

then take them to a tourist spot i,e. the grand canyon,  or what ever attraction/state park/ water park is near you.

especially if it's their first time here in the US anything will be exciting for them.

  5. Offer a place to sleep and rest.

  6. serve good food & show them around.

  7. Learn about your visitor as much and as far ahead as possible:  food habits, hobbies/recreation, etc.   Has he visited your country before and met local people?  By learning a few things in advance of the visit will keep you from guessing what to do in various situations.

  8. try to learn there language get accostumed to there religion and welcome them with open arms

dont feel wierd with them otherwise youll make them feel uncomfortable

  9. By being hospitable and always catering to their needs and also being sensitive to what their concerns are.. Try to give them a tour around and give them the best food and drink that you could afford..

  10. Show respect towards him, make him feel at home, help him and be kind and polite

  11. You have to yell really loud...

    Why not just get closer?

  12. pick them up at the airport. show them gesture of warm welcome by "kiss sabay hug".  offer your house as their place to stay but if you can't you should have booked them at least in a hotel prior to their arrival.  you should have filed in advance your leave so as to spend whole time with them in accompanying, touring and showing off nice places.  as a host do not let them pay for meals  as much as possible.  if you have the car drive them where they want to go.  if still you can shell out some more, you pay for the entrance tickets in the theme parks.  if they wished to stay for an extended time, and you have to work, ask a member of the family to take your place for awhile, and still meet them after your office hours.  buy them souvenir gifts if you can.  make sure to fetch them to airport when they go back home.

i think this is the hospitality that special guests should deserve.  truly my family and i had enjoyed this kind of hospitality we received from a friend.  and i bet you,  you would do the same to them if given a chance to host.
