What the biggest medal hope to have their chance of a medal slip away?

It seems like Shawn Johnson has had her hopes dashed quite a bit in this Olympic games but she's young so she'll be back next time.  And also Alicia Sacramone blowing the gold for the team competition and then not medaling on the vault in the individual, it just proved the fact that the judges in general were harder on the Americans.

Oh but Dana Torres in swimming, she lost by .01 and she is 41 so her odds of coming back are pretty slim.  That was horrible.

There was also the shooter - Emmons I think his name was - and he was pretty much set for gold and basically just had to shoot anywhere near the target and when he got ready to fire, his gun misfired and he got a 4.4 or something, where usually the lowest score is about 8.5, so it not only lost him the gold but knocked him out of medal contention.  Plus he had done a similar thing 4 years ago where he was down to the last shot and all he had to do was hit the target and he would get gold and for some reason he took aim at the wrong target!  Ugh, that's a hard pill to swallow!

Roger Federer, the men's number one player in the world until he lost.  He did get a doubles medal.
