My vote for dumbest sledge was the Port fan who had a go at me for singing the club song at 11pm on 29 September last year after a few ales. She yelled "Yeah but how long since you won your last flag" - my response "About 6 hours"

A coach who blasted me for not having enough run ... "You're playing like a f'ing defender!" ... "but coach, you've got me in the back pocket".

Funniest/strangest sledge to a boundary ump from a St Kilda fan, just about to throw it in "Hang on, that's the wrong ball!" ... hey, he looked!

Round one at the Bulldogs Adelaide game, I think it was Brad Johnson kicking to a lead and kicked it on the full, "You couldn't hit water if you fell out of a boat Johnno!" was a response.

Not sure if booing counts as a sledge but years ago North Melbourne staged some home games in Sydney so there was a "Boo a Roo" campaigned launched. Swans fans turned out in their droves for those games and every time Wayne Carey touched the ball the ground nearly shook with all the boos.

What made it so funny was that it was an officially launched campaign with tv advertising and everything. Do you think the swans want another team in Sydney???

dumbest sledge i heard was towards Kane Johnson in last years Richmond vs Brisbane draw when Johnson kicked the ball straight to the hands of a lions defender. If it had of reached a tigers forward they couldve taken an after the siren shot for any score. At the time of Kane's kick a lions fan yells "your so dumb that if you tried to throw a rock at the ground you would miss!".

I love this question and I love your comment to the Port Fan.

I have one footy and one basketball one.

Last year in WA  I was in Subiaco for the surprise birth of my son. This was the finals with Collingwood and West Coke they have what the call Finals Friday no one was at work and were all drunk by 10.00am.

Anyway I was walking to the hospital in a black shirt with white writing and was abused as a Victorian loving scumbag, I turned around and said gee you must be one of the 55% of West Coast fans who cant read, the writing on the top was Alkatraz Psycho Unit, being Victorian this top has had a lot of abuse from Collinmgwood fans.

Secondly I played in the NBL and the best comment of all time I heard was Ray Borner to Billy Miltonhall.

Billy: Thats a pushing foul on you Ray and no more comments from you or I will give you a Tech foul (at this stage Ray would have been thrown from the game, his team 1 point up).

Ray: Will you give me a Tech fould for what I am thinking then?

Billy: you know I cant do that Ray.

Ray: Well, I think your a Fing Idiot then.

Not being involved in AFL too much I don't know any, but I sure admired your reply to the Port fan! lol
