What the coming season holds for Boston Celtics – NBA Feature

Boston Celtics have taken a turn towards a slightly younger direction for the coming season.
They franchise faced some set back by losing several key players this summer. Ray Allen chose to join Miami Heat in order to have more defined role while Greg Stiemsma went over to Minnesota Timberwolves and the loss of Mickael
Pietrus may be hard to fill but their recent signings during the off-season are more than capable of filing up the void.
By adding Jason Terry they may have not been able to put a huge difference age wise but have gotten their hands on a more physically fit player who can play the Sixth Man Role to perfection as he has done in the past with the Dallas
Mavericks.
They have also gone ahead to sign Courtney Lee and Jason Collins while also having drafted two promising big mans in form for Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo, Celtics have been putting together a strong line up for the coming season
and the schedule for next year’s does put their eligibility to be contenders right from the get go.
In the first matchup of the season on October 30th, Celtics pay a visit to the American Airlines Arena to face off against the reigning champions Miami Heat. Other then the intriguing prospect of getting to watch the
likes of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo take on the big three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, this fixture holds higher significance than that.
This would be the first time that Allen would come face to face with the team he had achieved so much in the past with. Coming from a Celtics point of view, there will some kind of bad blood in the matchup as Allen parted ways
to join their fiercest rivals in the past few years, giving this contest an even stronger appeal.
Considering everything that has gone on during the summer, both teams would like to get off to a good start to the season as Miami gets on its way to defending a championship while on the other hand, Boston lays back their claim
to being one of the strongest contenders for the title.
If the first matchup sees Boston face off against one of their strongest rivals, there second fixture of the coming season sees them play hosts to Milwaukee Bucks. Keeping in mind how things have turned out in the past few seasons,
many would predict this to be an easy affair for the experienced Celtics team but Boston are bound to take this matchup on much like they would come to face off against the Heat.
Getting a good start to the season is one of the main aspects to delivering a strong message for your title ambitions and Celtics would like to do just that. They may be able to get some quality playing time for Sullinger who put
some excellent displays during the summer.
On the other hand, the Bucks would also want to get a good start to next season and with their young core being in the establishment process they are bound to give it their best shot. They have the likes of Monta Ellis and Drew
Gooden who along with Brandon Jennings, Mike Dunleavy and the newly recruited Doron Lamb and John Henson would like to prove themselves against an experienced Boston team.
