What the depth is required by the state of maryland for burying cables?

i was wondering if anyone knew what the depth was for burying cables/wires in maryland. i tried looking on missutility.net but couldn't find anything. what is the depth the companies use? thanks

    usually 18" , but sometimes less/more  , deeper in Mont.County


  2. Direct bury or in conduit?  Common practice is a minimum of 3 feet but no more than 5 feet.  But it depends on the cable type.
