  1. hi mate

shared graphics are when a intergrated graphics adapter is allocated a specific amount of memory from your system memory(ram),and this can range from as little as 64mb up to as much as 1024mb(1gb)

the difference between 128mb and 256mb is that 256mb will be able to run certain games that 128mb of shared graphics cant

most shared graphics can be edited so in other words it can be lowered so more memory is given back to your system ram, however they cant be highered more than the stated amount,so you cant change 128mb into 256mb

for games shared memory is not recommended, your far better off with a "dedicated" graphic card, this is a seperate card that fits into either a pci-express or agp interface depending on your motherboard

these have their own "video memory" and dont rely on your system ram, making games run better as well as most other applications

note: some dedicated graphic cards also borrow memory from your system ram, these cards use the names "turbocache"(nvidia) and "hypermemory"(ati) and these cards will come with their own memory(128mb/256mb) however they can also borrow more memory if needed and then give it back when the game or application has finished using it

this has the advantage over shared graphics, since the shared method uses the shared memory permanently however the turbocache/hypermemory method just uses it temporarily

                 any problems let me know

                           good luck mate !

  2. Shared Graphics means that the whole computer uses it to display anything you do.

the 128MB will be Dedicated in most cases, which means its dedicated to only playing games.

    Hope this helps

  3. The 256mb Will Hold More Things Than The 128mb !!

  4. this should make a large difference although it depends on what your actually doing, shared memory graphics cards offer less performance than dedicated memory cards though see below

  5. Look at it in more detail. All cards should have dedicated memory (memory on the card). This memory is faster and doesn't affect system performance. However, cards which run mainly on shared memory will have a big impact on system performance. Shared memory graphics cards take a share of the system memory/RAM, which is a massive disadvantage if you're already tight, for example running Vista Home Premium with 1GB of memory and then taking away more of it with shared graphics. Look at how much 'dedicated memory' the cards have. The one with greater dedicated memory is the better card. 128MB cards usually share memory as well, by the way. The one with the least amount of 'shared memory' is the best for your computer.

  6. The difference is 128mb

anything more than 128mb on your machine means, it has a good paging memory file and would be able to display full screen programs appropriately.

To check this, click on start, run, type dxdiag and check page file:

  7. yes
