  1. In the Army you are a soldier every day. In the reserve you go one weekend a month and for two weeks in the summer (plus any time you are called to active duty, such as trips to Iraq). The Army Reserve is similar to the National Guard, but does not have a state mission, only the federal mission.

  2. Pretty much what dude said. The Army is a full time commitment for how ever long the enlistement period is. Typically they are four years but it varies.

Army Reserves is part time. One weekend a month and two full weeks a year. BUT keep in mind with the reserves just because it is part time, you can still be pulled in to go to war or whereever else for however long they may need you for.

  3. in the reserves you are part time. you go once month for a weekend 2 weeks in the summer. you used if they need you though. you may get activated but otherwise its a part time job

  4. Full-time vs part-time.

  5. The Army is sent to a base and they don`t leave until their time they sighed up for.The army reserve go to their base only once a month.

  6. the army reserve is part time

  7. Army is full time, Im in the TA which is a reserve force and its not just one weekend a month. this month im away 3 weekends out of 4. it all depends on what weekends you can make and what weekends you cant.

the more you put in the more you get out.

in the TA you do one week night each week and at least one weekend per month you can do more if the weekend are available.

one weekend per months is what is expected of you.
