  1. the dvd-r you can use it just once i think for recording but the dvd+r you can use it again even you use it already.


  2. DVD-r and DVD+r differ in the way the data is written to the disk.  +r is supposed to have a better system of error correction (to make the data more reliable).  Most end users won't really notice the difference.  

    Most modern DVD players will play both formats.  Look on the front of your DVD recorder to see what formats it will write to and use that kind of media.  Some recorders will work with both kinds of media, this will also be written on the front of the drive.

    As one person suggested, there is a DVD /RW  which is rewritable (can be recorded on more than once).  Standard DVD +r and DVD -r media can only be recorded on once.
