What the different between a fox and a wolf?

  1. They don't belong to the cat family, Felidae. They are both from the Canidae family. When was the last time you heard a dog "meow"?

    Wolves are generally much bigger than foxes and they live in packs. Foxes tend to be solitary. Wolves often hunt prey larger than themselves, as they are pack hunters.

    Hyaenas aren't close relatives of dogs.  They just look a bit doggish.  Bears are more closely related with dogs than hyaenas are.

  3. Wolves are much larger than foxes, and are pack animals. An adult wolf can weigh anywhere from 80 lbs to over 150 lbs, where as the largest fox probably only weighs about 25-30 lbs.

    Fox, Jackal & Wolf are the members of family Canidae. Some more members are Dog, Hyna, Coyote etc.

    Fox & Jackal both consideralbly differ from common Wolf in construction.

    All the above mentioned members in the family differ from eachother on various points

    1. Looks - Colours, Size, Structure, Proflie etc.

    2. Behaviour

    3. Food

    4. Dentition, Jaw Structure, Ear Setup etc.

  5. well they both come from the same common ancestor, but remember that a Wolf travels in packs.and the Fox doesnt
