What the future holds for Hulk – part 1

The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186’s reluctance to sell him for a fair price is making it a transfer drama that shouldn’t be
Physically, he is worthy of Bruce Banner – the first man on earth who personified Marvel’s creation Hulk. His top speed can give Usain Bolt a run for his money while the stats he racks up every season are something Houdini can never accomplish.
Arrived from a lesser known Tokyo Verdy side in the Japanese league as an unknown quantity at FC Porto in 2008, Givanildo Vieira de Souza, also known as Hulk, has become one of the most highly sought after commodities in European football.
The Brazilian superhero has won almost everything during his 4-year stay at FC Porto and many people feel that it’s time for the Campina Grande-born player to test his skills elsewhere.
However, signing the player is not an easy thing especially because Porto president, Pinto da Costa has set his release clause at a stratospheric 100 million euros – something even the richest of the richest clubs would not want to pay.
At the age of 25, it is safe to say that Hulk has not reached his prime so a move to a more elite European side would further develop the player into a global star. Under contract with the Dragoes until June 2014, Hulk is at a crossroad in his career.
Though Hulk has proven to be a loyal worker for the Portuguese giants, the player also wants to pursue his own ambitions in order to further his development. Many interested clubs have asked Porto to be realistic about Hulk’s transfer fee.
In the light of current economic strains, there is not a single club that can pay 100 million euros upfront for the player. Doing so would be impractical and foolish so Porto need to be pragmatic in their dealings or risk seeing their emblematic player walk
away from the club for free after his current deal runs out.
Though Pinto de Costa has come down to 70 million euros, it is clear that the player will not see himself playing somewhere else if the price tag is not lowered.
From a tactical perspective, there are four teams that can match Hulk’s ambitions for various reasons.
Tottenham Hotspur
With Andre Vilas-Boas, Hulk has won everything and vice versa. Though they are not offering Champions League football next season, Spurs can be an ideal destination for Hulk. With each passing day, it is becoming clearer than ever before that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857
will bid adieu to the residents of White Hart Lane.
Many believe that the way Porto performed in the Champions League last season will not allow http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Costa-c9458 to exercise the 100 million euros release clause for Hulk. Moreover, reports claim that AVB will be given a lot of money to spend in the transfer
market.
The fee received from the departure of Modric along with the transfer budget, could help the Londoners in landing Hulk.
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 down the right, it is hard to imagine that Spurs fans won’t be drooling over such a prospect. Chelsea’s European miracle this May condemned Spurs to Europa League football next season and signing Chelsea’s long-term
target would extract some revenge.
