What the heck is APA format?

I'm used to MLA format and have never used APA. Can someone please explain to me how to use it for my essay?

  1. It is the way to cite your research sources in a paper.  The format is American Psychological Association and it is the common format used in the social sciences.  The link provides examples of how to cite your sources in APA.
