What the heck is blue tooth?

My cell phone has blue tooth and it always asks if i want to turn it on and i have nooo clue what it is. Someone please help

You use to connect your phone to other things with Bluetooth, ie a headset or a computer.

Keep it turned off if your not using it as it drains the battery and you could be hacked.
