  1. Kitkat, myths and fables all contain weird animals roaming the world's countryside. Your chupacabra is Mexican origin and does look somewhat like a dog, although it has been known to run on two feet. The stories continue in Mexico so maybe your mother did know of one.

    Spartawo...

  2. Ah, the good old Chupacabra.  I love this story. :)

The name means "goat sucker," in Spanish.  I am not sure why it got that name, when it seems to "feed" on almost any small animal, but that is the one that gets all the press.  I have heard it called other things, but Mexico gets the most press and that term seems to be spreading fairly fast.

I first heard of the creature in Mexico, when I was learning Spanish.  Since then, I have heard of it in most countries south of the US.  In the 1990's, it seems to have sneaked into the US and started feeding in Florida and Texas areas.  I have even heard some say that it has been seen in other states, but one can never tell.  Most Americans heard of it in the 90's when it seemed to be attacking creatures in the US, including humans.

What it is, like most Crypto-creatures, is open for debate.  Some report it looks like a small dog, and others say it looks like a monkey or lizard.  The drawings I have of some reported creatures vary.  They seem to be able to walk on two or four legs, jump and/or fly, and even disappear.  They may have scales or fur, but almost always have glowing eyes.  At first, the reports said they drank blood, like vampires, but now it is being said that they also eat the creatures they attack.  Some people believe they migrate, in search of prey, and others feel that they are a species that cover a large area of the Americas.

Records go way back, at least verbally, indicating a group, not a single creature (unless it is immortal).  Origins suggest an  rare type of ape/monkey, a mutation, and some go out into space and say that it is an alien or the pet of an alien, left stranded on Earth years ago.  Right now, everything seems subjective and any facts seem to be hard to pin down.  Most victim autopsy reports suggest a larger feline attacker, but there is still a lot we don't know about even common predators.  It was thought that the mountain lion was extinct in my area, and yet I saw one last week, as did a local woman who claimed it tried to attack her.  Life is full of surprises.

Also, the fact that most reports are in Spanish makes it hard to get facts.  Spanish, like English, has slang terms that are hard for non-Spanish speaking people to catch or understand.  What a person says might not be taken the right way, so we get a misunderstanding.

  3. i don't beleive in the chupacabra.

and for those of you wodering what it is.The name "chupacabra" has two parts with a meaning.Chupa is the latin word for suck.Cabra is the latin word for sheep or lamb.Thats why in so many stories the chupacabra is eating sheeps.but it doesn't exists. Some people think that it is somehow related to a bat.But there are some pictures that it looks way to big to be one.

  4. it's a Mexican ghost thingy where they honor and have a festival for people who are dead and they eat candy skulls and stuff..

  5. It is a myth like the unicorn, the centaurus, the pegasus etc etc.

  6. I thought it was some kind of mexican food. haha
