What the heck is this??

Something someone gave my mom. its a black square about 8x8inches it's made of plastic and has small legs on it like its meant to stand on a table. it has 9 square holes in the middle in a square formation and has a metal wire on one of the corners with a metal object on the end. the object looks like its in between a flying saucer shape and a sphere. like a ball but the top and bottom pushed in with an edge going around the middle. what the heck is it. O, and its from IKEA. on the bottom it says IKEA of Sweden made in vietnam with a circle of numbers with a 07 in the middle with an arrow pointing to the 1.

I don't know what the object is that you are describing, but I can tell you that the circle of numbers has to do with the plastic mold that it was made from.
