OMG! What the heck is wrong with people?! I know some say global warming is a mith, but shouldn't we stop driving stuff that makes smoke just in case? People just say, "Global Warming my butt! How are we suposed to get around without cars?!" Well, if you are a stupid pig that would say that, you better think twice. What is going to happen if Global Warming warming continues for years and years and years? First, each bordering states become part of the ocean (wich causes millions of death) Then befor you know it, all of earth's water dries up and we all die. Now.......can you argue with me?

  1. whats wrong with people?  - small minded, shallow, materialistic, selfish, cant see the bigger picture...........

  2. No argument from me. Here's some more 'ammo' for you;

    Nothing we do can overcome the effects of entropy. We can slow down the effects, but that is it. There certain physical laws in the universe that cannot be broken. Simply put, first you have the main Laws of Thermodynamics - they are;

    1) You can't win

    2) You can't even break even

    3) You can't get out of the game

    Then there are the physical paradoxes that appear. The main 3 are;

    1) You can't catch up

    2) You can't even start

    3) You can't even move

    We have ignored these basic laws for so long we are doomed. We are already using 20% more energy than the earth and produce. In other words, we 'owe' energy. That is impossible to do. We are living on borrowed time. Just think, the next time the population doubles, like in the next 15 years, we will be using 40% more energy than the earth can produce. How long do you really think we can sustain that kind of living?

    While the masses wait for the Engineers and Scientists (or the Messiah, tsk-tsk) to save the world with a “by the time I get cancer there will be a cure for it” attitude, this is an example of what is;

    Nobel chemist Frederick Soddy pointed out over 70 years ago: “Debts are subject to the laws of mathematics rather than physics. Unlike wealth, which is subject to the laws of thermodynamics, debts do not rot away with old age and are not consumed in the process of living. On the contrary, they grow at so much per cent per annum, by the well known mathematical laws of simple and compound interest”

    Economist Herman Daly explains the inevitable consequences that result when society pits the mathematical notions of compound interest against the physical reality of thermodynamics. He says that while debt can grow at compound interest forever, real physical wealth cannot continue to grow at the same speed “because its physical dimension is subject to the destructive forces of entropy.” He concludes: “Since wealth cannot continually grow as fast as debt, the one to one relation between the two will at some point in time be broken- i.e. there must be some repudiation or cancellation of debt. The positive feedback of compound interest must be offset by counter acting forces of debt repudiation, such as inflation, bankruptcy, or confiscatory taxation, all of which breed violence.”

    At every step in the entire production and exchange process, work is done; namely, energy is expended by both humans and machines. Part of that energy is absorbed into the product and part is wasted. This means that the more stages in the economic process, the more energy is lost. The same principle is at work in the production process as in the simple food chain. In highly industrial societies the stages of the economic process continue to proliferate, meaning more and more energy is dissipated all along the line; and the resultant disorders create even greater long-range problems for society.

  3. Mary,

    What is it like to walk around in the 4th dimension on a distant planet? 1998 was the hottest year on record. The earth has cooled since then. However, I will not get into a political debate with an idiot like yourself.

  4. "First, each bordering states become part of the ocean (wich causes millions of death)"

    I know there lot of really stupid folks out there, but all but the most brain dead might give a thought to moving to higher ground if ocean levels were to rise.  Also when water dries up, it tends to fall back as rain

  5. 1 slight problem i really dont get it and im a big fan of snowboardin and no snow no board and i no happy

  6. leave it till you've finished your education

  7. "Materialistic" - so what - it's my life, my lifestyle, none of your business.    How come your decision whether to carry your pregnancy to term - to have your baby - is your choice, none of my business, but how I get to work is your business?

    That's hypocrisy.

    "Selfish" - how?    I don't expect you to pay for my gasoline or my car, and I take a toll road to work, and I'm positive I pay more taxes than you do.   So what I do doesn't come at your expense.

    You're the one trying to limit what I can do - THAT'S selfish.

    And you're also engaging in ridiculous hyperbole.     250 million years ago when there was a vast inland sea in North America, CO2 levels were 12 times what they are today, and temperatures were about 30% warmer.    The seas have risen a fraction of a millimeter per year - - - we'll run out of oil in 200 years and have switched to something else in about 75 at the latest.

    It's also been warmer, within human history, than it is today - without human involvement - and the world didn't end.   The polar bears survived, etc....

    And maybe you haven't noticed, but because of the global average temperature decline since Spring 2007, the temperatures are now where they were in the 1970s when Newsweek warned us of "global cooling."

    Now, Bob will tell you that's just a strong La Nina but that's the whole point - even if the late 20th century warming was entirely CO2-driven and man-made, if short term variations offset in less than a year the effects of a generation of CO2-driven warming, that means we're not in for some big disaster - it means maybe next generation, 1998/2005 level temps will be the norm, at which time oil will go to $150/bbl - or $200/bbl if the government doesn't stop spending more than it takes in and devaluing the dollar - and we'll switch to something else.    In 200 years much of the coal will be gone - and the economy will have gotten to the point where nobody will want to be coalminers.

    Keep in mind that during the MWP, temps were - USING THE AGW-PROPONENTS' MODELS - at 1930s levels for 200 years straight, and the world didn't end.

    So even if we caused the late-20th-century warming, our effect is barely noticeable within the natural variations.

    Note, I'm not saying the AGW proponents were right on the science of what caused the late 20th century warming or their present version of the MWP were true - I'm just saying that even if they were right on these points, it doesn't justify the restrictions they seek.

    EDIT - you can vote thumbs down all you want but don't you ever DARE oppose the Patriot Act and other similar measures on the grounds that you're against "Big Brother."   Because you're all about Big Brother, my friend.

  8. No I cant agree with you because what you just said indicates you know nothing about the past events of the earth, and you might be lacking in the logic department as well.  If the coastal areas did flood, it would take place over a hundred year span.  We would be veiwing beach erosion, not a fast moving devestating flood that kills everyone in its path.

    How will all the water in the world dry up?  How?  Is the earth going to lose its magnetic field so the water can escape the earths gravity?  Explain how that would happen if the global average temperature raised by 1 degree C.  See, you cant.

    Im sorry but I will never be convinced by someone that comes on here going OMG!! and talking about driving things that "smoke".

    Just assume you dont know that much about the topic instead of trying to spread false information with faulty logic.

  9. co2 might just be plant food but there has to be plants to eat it.

    everyone focuses on reducing pollution and forgets about cause and effect.

    example:

    if you have a dam that is about to overflow, and you stop filling it with water, but you start taking layers off the top what is going to eventually happen?

    there is nothing wrong with our planet that 5,000,000,000,000, trees planted across the planet won't help.  trees also slow the wind and cool the earth

  10. Calling humans stupid pigs is the way I would want to endear people  to listen to my argument.  This kind of ranting does no one any good. If your really concerned calmly present your case in a civil and articulate manner.  You also need to realize not everyone will agree with your case and that's okay, its called debate.

  11. Gawd - The world isn't going to end because I drive a car, and the Earth is now cooling.  Man cannot cause "global warming".

    This doesn't mean that we shouldn't do what we can to reduce pollution, however co2 is not a pollutant, it's just plant food.

  12. Hey Jello, what's up?

  13. Don't worry little girl.  The rising sea level will only kill those not smart enough to move from the very low lying areas during severe storms, IE: New Orleans. The change will be so slow that  it will take many lifetimes. You really need to learn about this topic before you go ranting to people. It makes you look dumb.
