What the heck left this behind?

I woke up to find my entire pot of parsley on my deck eaten and whatever did it left behind bright green p**p that looks like tiny hand grenades. What on earth did this??

most likely caterpillars, snails or grasshoppers.

I raise fennel just for the caterpillars of the Black Swallowtails!.... don't fret... your parsley will return next season, bigger and better for having been used as a food source.....if YOU would like to have some parsley, plant more next time!!.... *smile*.......
