I don't think he's doing it on purpose I really think Sesame Street messed up his brain or something. I'm afriad he's going to sound like Elmo permenatly. He's also been asking me for a goldfish lately. Please help.

  1. It's a good job he doesn't watch The Incredible Hulk.

  2. theres NOTHING wrong with that... little kids always mimic things that they see on TV. he'll grow out of it

  3. lol this is funny. Your kid isn't messed up - kids always mimic things that they see. He'll grow out of it.

  4. Lol my kid did the same thing except with barney she started sings, dancing, talking like him, she saw this rabbit one and wants to get a bunny. Its just a phrase. He'll grow out of it. My daughter now thinks Barney is dumb.

  5. Let him watch "300" and he'll snap right out of it.

  6. Who let him watch it?  So...what is it u need help with?

  7. HERE'S MY ADVICE MY FRIEND!

    Write to this address

    Sesame Workshop

    1 Lincoln Plaza, 2nd Floor

    New York, NY 10023

And do me a favor, if you do write a letter, tell them to bring back Chrisopher Cerf!

  8. lol he will grow out of it

  9. Thats hilarious. Thank god for sesame street or else I'de lose my mind. Mila loves it, ( my 2 year old) and I think it's a great show.

  10. You're funny... he's just being a child. It's actually quite normal.

  11. okay, i dont know what is up with everyone else here, but if that were my child i would be feeling exactly like you are. we don't have a tv in our house for this reason, because i have seen my 7-yr-old nephew turned into a total psycho who only talks baby-talk and nonsense because of the c**p he watches on tv. My hubby and I watch shows on Hulu.com, it has tons of great shows with almost no ads and then we dont have the temptation to stick our daughter in front of a cartoon. She's almost a year and a half and she totally ignores whats on screen unless its a home video of her. my suggestion would be to get rid of cable or at least hide the remote. You want your child to be an individual, not brainwashed! best of luck.

  12. LOL kids love to mimic things. but try to limit the amount of time he watches it. That should help.

Kids do the funniest things and usually change from one thing to another.

  13. He's just imitating his favorite character.  He'll grow out of it, I promise.

  14. relax, he'll grow out of it. hes just being a kid. imitating stuff they see. but something is telling me this isn't true. sorry, n/o. but it sounds kind of (gold)fish(ie)y

  15. dont worry, all kids love to be like funny characters, its just a phase. i wanted to be a bunny when i was little. just go along with it and play along. he'll grow out of it soon. and to get his laugh back, play a laugh game, be really funny so that he laughs for real and then say thats the best laugh

  16. It will pass...

Believe me, I use to do the same thing, with both Barney and Sesame Street.

As for as the fish, you may just have to keep telling him no for a while. I begged my mom for a fish until I was about 7, and after he died, I wanted another one. She got me another, and after he died, that was it. I was tired of fish, and I wanted a cat.. which we still have after like 7 years, but my little stepsister then wanted a dog.. we got her and she lived for almost 6 years (someone poisoned her, we think), even with the dog and cat though, we, my siblings and mom, wanted another dog, too.. So we ended up getting a dog, he died (not my fault), got another, he died (again not my fault), then we got another (he was sick so we got another, but he recovered). So now I'm 15 and we have one cat and two dogs, and my little stepsisters dog died back in Feb.

In short form: Most children love animals! Either you're going to have keep telling him no until he moves out of the house or get an animal. I would start with the fish if I were you though.

    Good luck.

  17. :) thats funny. well i think he sees something new and he likes it. Maybe if you let him watch other shows he'd act like them. My son watches power rangers, and he "plays" power ranger with some kids in his day care. I dont think theres anything wrong with your kid. he's probley trying to entertain you like he gets entertained with Elmo. My son will act silly just to make me laugh. But he has yet to do an Elmo impression. I dont think he would make me mad if he did. I bet if you ignore he would stop that. But ignoring is kind of mean. lol. and i dont think he will sound like Elmo permeniatly.

  18. well if thats an issue then i am  in big trouble. my 3 year old has been spongebob, elmo, a few veggietales characters, a puppy, a fish a cat and a lizard this year. i promise the kid will grow out of it. he will find out something more interesting is out there...

would you be concerned if he was acting like batman or superman. right now elmo is his hero..let him be

  19. Either you're a troll, or you dropped the poor thing on its head one time too many.

  20. It's perfectly normal.  He'll grow out of it.  Try to avoid overreacting and getting angry with him - it may only make him do it more.

Elmo's my favourite character, too, but I can't do the voice!
