What the h**l does illegal war mean?

Everyone keeps b&#$@ing and moaning about Bush being a liar and starting an illegal war.

What exactly do you liberals mean by illegal war?

Oh what short-term memories Americans have... first of all im not a liberal, or a democrat or a republican, I'm a American and the blood of my countrymen comes before any resource or monetary gain. Cant say that for our current administration, Cheny responded with "So!", When asked about Americans and the way the country felt about the war.

"If the American administration is interested in inspecting these sites, then they're welcome to come over and have a look for themselves,"

The White House immediately rejected the offer, saying the matter is up to the United Nations, not Iraq.

Bush's administration didnt care if there was WMD's chemical or nuclear, they had been planning to invade Iraq reguardless. He dragged a whole nation into a war for oil and revenge,  the Iraqis burned down thier oil wells. Deminished returns on oil so that was in vain, at least he got his revenge on Saddam..

Mind you this all happened in a republican controlled senate, anyone who didnt go along was painted as unpatriotic.

First of all I do not trust Bush or the republican party at all, and I do not consider myself a liberal. Bush has lied to get into Iraq with WMD,s and has not even tried to pursue Osama Bin Laden. He has used the deaths of 3000 lives on 911 to further his own agenda which is to get control of the large oil reserves in Iraq. While our brave soldiers are dying Bush and his cronies have made billions off of no bid open end contrats. The PM of Iraq wants a timetable and Bush says he does not want a time table, why not? because Bush never was going to hunt down Bin Laden and he is never going to leave Iraq. When the Iraqi's see his choice our American soldiers will suffer. It's alright for Bush because him and his cronies will still be making millions off our grandchildrens futures!

Illegal - means not legal.  I know right wing zealots want the Iraq War to be just OK.  But we hung n***s after WW 2 for starting the war for no other reason than pure greed and stupidity (two of Bush's personality components).

Indeed, had you been in Poland when the n***s attacked, I bet you could figure out what "illegal" means.  Had you been in Baghdad when the Americans showered it with bombs, I bet you could figure out why that war is also "illegal".

This is an interesting question and it goes deeper than I think you intended it to.  

This is an example of the difference in how many people on the left side of the political spectrum think as opposed to those on the right.  It is an issue of legality vs. morality.  Many people on the left look at crime from a sociological perspective, in that crime should be measured by harm rather than by the letter of the law, and they see this war as being wrong, so "illegal."   This is why so many arguments made by liberals fly in the face of logic, because they are based on emotion or belief, not necessarily law or fact.  If something feels wrong, then it must be wrong.  Does that make sense?

There may not have been as much justification as they wanted to go to war.  They branded it an "illegal war" to further their propaganda.  He went through all the necessary steps to begin with.  

It is the same as how liberals under Clinton came up with "semi-auto assault weapon".  Before they coined that phrase, assault weapon was defined as a weapon with selective fire (semi-auto, or fully automatic).  They purposely misled the public by their description and false naming.  This is why the Clinton gun ban was allowed to lapse.  This is the same thing as the "illegal war" mantra they all speak now.  It is their attempt to spin the truth to their liking.

People on here are saying Bush lied. What did he lie about. Can you prove he lied. I didn't think so. The war was "legal" and we removed a man who had killed thousand of people with chemical weapons. He had enough time before the war started to remove his WMD.  God bless America and the proud men and women serving our great country!!!!
