I've suffered from dry hands for a while now, and i just cant get rid of them. Most girls have soft palms, and what not but i don't and that really aggravates me. My brother has softer hands then me, but that's because his palms sweat.

What lotions, soaps, or oils could i use too soften my hands and keep them soft?

  1. maybe you can try exfoliating them.

like take some sugar and mix it with a bit of oil (olive oil, baby oil...etc)(or you can use a face scrub) then scrub ur hands with it. do this for like 5 mintues or so then wash ur hands and what i do is put a bunch of lotion on my hands but dont rub it in just put it there and then wear some cotton gloves or even socks (i know weird much lol :]) to help the lotion soak in and leave it on overnite and in the morning u'll have really soft hands. :) u can also try vasaline with that but i find its too greasy for me. so whenever u feel ur hands are dry u can do that.

    hope i helped

  2. Alot of times lotion dosen't work because people don't use it often enough. I would try Olay quench hand lotion the purple bottle. Carry it with you and put it on often, it should help. If not, visit a dermatologist.

  3. Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream.

i know you said you have used lotion, but this lotion is guaranteed to last through washing and lasts 24 hours. it is also non-greasy, so it doesn't feel slimy on your skin, it feels smooth.

  4. some girls have a certain condition that there hands are rough nothing to worry about i would bring it up next time you see your doctor my sister has the same condition

  5. you can use coco butter, or you can fill gloves up and put your hands in them every night.

Try to avoid products that have alcohol in them, that is a really way to dry your hands out.

If its pretty bad, you can go to a dermatologist and they could probably give you some stuff.

  6. baby oil

    or

    Vaseline

they work the best hope i helped!

  7. you may want to go and see a doctor with regards to your hands. you may have a skin condition such as eczema. specto makes a great product called spectro eczema care; it works for severly dry and irritated skin. i tried it and it did wonders. again, you may want to see your doctor or dermatologist to diagnose you properly and give you something prescriptive, but in the meantime the spectro product is amazing. also, la roch possay makes a cream called nutritic 5% which works wonders on severly dry skin. so does cliniderm hand cream.

  8. my stepmom buys this stuff called satin hands it keeps your hands soft for im not sure how long lol but it does make your hands soft :D

  9. Don't use soap!  Soap strips your hands of the natural oils in skin and makes the problem even worse.  I would do nothing for a week or so, then I would buy a soap that says 'moisturizing', but I would only use it when my hands actually needed to be washed, so you weren't overkilling the situation.  If it still doesn't go away, maybe you should see your doctor, especially if they get red and flaky.
